Jeremy Legat is a British actor[1] born in London, England and now living in Toronto, Canada. He was educated at Churcher's College and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art.
He is known for his role as Aldous Germaine in the Canadian television series Murdoch Mysteries[2] on CBC, as well as Boq in the West End production of Wicked early in its run at the Apollo Victoria Theatre.[3]
Jeremy was a child actor, appearing in productions of Peter Pan and Cameron Mackintosh's revival of Oliver! at the London Palladium and the independent film Endgame before training at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art.
Upon graduating, Jeremy appeared in stage productions of Beautiful Thing at the Leicester Haymarket Theatre, Lauren Child's Who's Afraid Of The Big Bad Book for the Soho Theatre, Spring Awakening for the Young Vic Theatre and Dido, Queen of Carthage in promenade around Kensington Palace (for which he was nominated for the Ian Charleson Award.)
He also appeared in Crazy For You at the Watermill Theatre, Thérèse Raquin at the Finborough Theatre and later the Park Theatre[4] as well as the UK premieres of Curtains (Landor Theatre),[5] Grey Gardens (Southwark Playhouse).[6] Jeremy also premiered Murder For Two in the UK at the Watermill Theatre, The Other Palace Theatre and on tour, winning rave reviews for his portrayal of the numerous suspects.[7]
On television, he has appeared in the Netflix series The Umbrella Academy,[8] Hope and Glory, Hustle, Surviving Disaster (in an episode about the sinking of the MS Estonia), Mike Bassett: Manager starring Ricky Tomlinson and Amanda Redman, Filth: The Mary Whitehouse Story starring Julie Walters and Hugh Bonneville and Canoe Man which starred Bernard Hill and Saskia Reeves.[9]
In the David Bowie biopic Stardust, Jeremy plays drummer Woody Woodmansey. The film was released internationally in November 2020.[10]
