Jeremy Murphy (born March 31, 1975) is an American author, journalist, publicist, and commentator.[2]

Murphy currently serves as president of 360Bespoke, a public relations agency handling clients in lifestyle, beauty, fashion, the arts, publishing and entrepreneurs he founded in 2016 and is the author of the humor book F*ck Off, Chloe: Surviving the OMGs and FMLs in your Media Career.[3]

Early Life and Education

Murphy was born in Rockaway Beach, New York, and raised in Coral Springs and Boca Raton, Florida. He attended the Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida, where he studied Communications.

Career

Murphy’s first media jobs were as a feature writer for the Bradenton Herald and Boca Raton News, where he was also a copy editor.

Murphy later became a feature writer for Knight Ridder newspapers and a reporter for Mediaweek.

In 2002, Murphy joined CBS as part of the company’s communications team, and was later promoted to Vice President of Communications. During his tenure, he handled crisis communications for Janet Jackson’s Super Bowl Halftime appearance, as well as public relations for CBS corporate, local TV affiliates, CBS’ radio and outdoor advertising divisions. Murphy also served as speechwriter for the CEO and other senior executives.

In 2006, Murphy created the magazine Watch for the network and served as editor-in-chief.[4]

360 BESPOKE

His work with artists provided the inspiration for Murphy to found his New York-based public relations firm, 360Bespoke, several years later.[5][6]

Murphy's clients include Rinna Beauty, the cosmetics brand by actress Lisa Rinna; perfume creator Sue Phillips, violinist Charlie Siem; opera star Iestyn Davies; artistic director, tastemaker and florist Jeff Leatham; Garrett Neff’s Katama lifestyle brand and others.

WRITING

On March 1, 2022, Murphy released his first book, F*ck Off, Chloe: Surviving the OMGs and FMLs in Your Media Career, which examined the culture clash between young and old in the workplace, complemented by illustrations by designer/artist Darren Greenblatt.[7][8]

Murphy, also a screenwriter, is currently working on developing the scripted TV series House of Medici with producers James Brolin and Scott Hart about secrets and scandals from the Medici era that come back to haunt a family in London in the 1980s. The project is being packaged by the Gersh talent agency.[9]

Murphy has been profiled in numerous media platforms and has been a frequent media commentator on pop culture/news events, appearing on TV and radio to discuss topics like "woke-ism" and Gen-Zers in the workplace. [10][11][12][13][14][15][16]He has also appeared on Dr. Drew's national streaming show.[17]
