Biography

Early Life

Pritchard was born in Portsmouth on 2 January 1984 but grew up in Tunbridge Wells.[1]. From the age of seven he learned the cello, learning guitar at age twelve, and finally bass guitar aged fourteen[2]. He studied at The Judd School, Tonbridge, and as a teenager regularly played at The Forum, Tunbridge Wells, in a band formed with friends he met at school.[3]

Everything Everything and Musical Career

Pritchard studied Popular Music and Recording at the University of Salford, meeting Jonathan Higgs who was on the same course. As well as forming Everything Everything, Pritchard and Higgs also formed the band Modern Bison with fellow student Mike Carswell[4]. Modern Bison released one album, "I Could've Had A Rustic Pagoda", on Unlabel in 2006[5].

Everything Everything formed in 2007 and the band lived together in a house in Didsbury[6]. Their first single, Suffragette Suffragette, was released in 2008. They have now released thirty singles and six albums, with new album Mountainhead due to be released on 1 March 2024. Pritchard plays bass guitar and provides backing vocals, but also plays bass synth. His bass style draws influences from Alex James, Colin Greenwood and Paul McCartney[7].

From 19 February 2019 until the end of that same year, Pritchard joined Foals as their touring bassist[8].

Pritchard is on the board of trustees for the Music Venue Trust[9] and is on the board of directors of The Featured Artists Coalition[10].
