Jeroen Vandersteen
Jeroen Vandersteen (born 1984) is a Belgian engineer employed by the European Space Agency. He is also a board game designer and author of Lift Off.[1].
Career and Research[edit]
Jeroen was born in Leuven, Belgium, in 1984.
After receiving a degree in Mechanical Engineering from KU Leuven in 2007, Jeroen started his career as Satellite Design Engineer at NASA Ames[2]. In 2012 he gained a doctorate in Mechanical Engineering from KU Leuven with focus on advanced state estimation and control systems for aerospace applications[3]. Since 2012, he works as Control Systems Engineer for the European Space Agency at the European Space Research and Technology Centre (ESTEC) in the Netherlands[4].
Game Career[edit]
Jeroen created the game Lift Off published by Hans im Glück and released at Spiel 2018[5]. Lift Off is Eurogame with a retro science fiction style, inspired by the space race in the 50' and 60'[6]
