Early Life[edit]

Ro grew up in West Baltimore[8], with his three older sisters. Ro's acting was encouraged as he and his sisters would perform dance and musical routines for their Grandmother and Great Aunt. That led Ro to develop his musical interest by rapping and dancing at local talent shows and events. In Walbrook High School, Ro met with a group of friends, which in turn lead to forming the rap group, Twice As Nice. The group won 1st place at a local talent show which earned them a spot at the famed Apollo Theater in Harlem for a taping on "Showtime at the Apollo". In 1991 the group made history, winning the "Amateur Night", as the first rap group[9][10][11]. Over the years Ro moved on to film, beginning as an extra, with his first role in the feature film "The Meteor Man (film)", directed by Robert Townsend (actor). Working through his acting career, in various roles, he worked on films by acclaimed directors such as, Michael Bay, Fab 5 Freddy, Quentin Tarantino, Michael Mann and Tyler Perry.

Music Career[edit]

As an actor with a background in music, Ro played in Syleena Johnson's "I Am Your Woman" and in "Guess What" music videos, in both video Ro played as her love interest.
