Jesper Brodin
Jesper Brodin (born November 9, 1968) is a Swedish business leader, and the chief executive officer (CEO) of Ingka Group,..[1][2] which controls 390 IKEA stores in 31 markets[3]. During his career at IKEA, Brodin has held a number of different roles including assistant to Ingvar Kamprad, Business Area Manager Kitchen and Dining, as well as Managing Director for Range & Supply, Inter IKEA Group[4]. Brodin is married with three children and his passions are music and the sea. [5]
Jesper’s vision for Ingka Group spotlights sustainable development. He is a member of the World Economic Forum, advocating for wider climate commitments across the global retail sector.[6]
Early Life and Education[edit]
Brodin was born in 1968 in Gothenburg, Sweden[7]. In 1994, he graduated with a M.Sc. in Industrial Engineering from Chalmers University of Technology.[7]

In 1995, Brodin joined IKEA as the company’s Purchase Manager in Pakistan[8]
Throughout the years, Brodin has held various positions within the company across the world. [9] After Pakistan, he became the Range & Supply Manager in Southeast Asia in 1997[10]. In 1999, Brodin assumed the role of assistant to Ingvar Kamprad and Anders Dahlvig, CEO of IKEA Group at the time[11].
In 2008, Brodin moved to China to become Regional Purchase Manager[12]. In 2011 he moved back to Sweden to serve as IKEA Supply Chain Manager at IKEA of Sweden, before becoming CEO of IKEA Range & Supply in 2013[13].

In 2013, Brodin began his executive career as the CEO of IKEA Range & Supply, the company responsible to develop, design, produce and supply all IKEA stores around the world with its home furnishing range and solutions[14].
Ingka Group[edit]
In September 2017, Brodin became the CEO of Ingka Group[15].
Under the leadership of Brodin, Ingka Group announced the acquisition of TaskRabbit in September 2017[16] [17]
In April 2018, Brodin announced a three-year strategy for Ingka Group to transform its business by increasing its focus on digital solutions, online shopping and home delivery service[18]. In addition the company announced in October 2018 that it will test and try new formats by opening smaller stores in central urban locations[19]
In September 2018, Brodin committed to accelerating Ingka Group’s work to shift to zero-emissions delivery by 2025 by working more quickly with key cities[20]. The company had previously joined the Science-Based Targets initiative, pledging to cut emissions from stores and other operations in line with the goals of the Paris Agreement[21]
In 2019 Jesper joined The B Team[22]. In addition, he also is the chair of WEF Alliance of CEO Climate leaders[23]
Personal Life[edit]
Jesper Brodin lives in Helsingborg, Sweden. He is married with three children and fills his spare time with sailing and music.[24]
