Jessica Cordova Kramer is the co-founder and CEO of the podcast network Lemonada Media. Her podcast Last Day was a Webby Awards honoree in two categories and a nominee for iHeartRadio Music Awards in the year 2020. Kramer has also served as the Executive Producer of Crooked Media’s Pod Save the People.[1][2][3][4]

Career[edit]

Kramer began her professional career as a Wall Street lawyer, working on pro bono domestic violence and refugee cases, then worked for Teach For America and Teach For All.[5][6]

Lemonada Media[edit]

In 2019, Kramer co-founded the podcast network Lemonada Media with actress and author Stephanie Wittels Wachs.[7][8] The two women met in 2017 after Wachs appeared as a guest on the podcast Terrible, Thanks for Asking! discussing her struggle coping with her brother’s death.[9][4] At the time, Kramer was an Executive Producer of Crooked Media’s Pod Save The People.[10]

She heard Wachs’ episode, and having lost her own brother Stefano to the opioid epidemic, Kramer reached out to Wachs and proposed they found Lemonada Media together.[11][12][13][14] As of 2021, Lemonada is represented by Creative Artists Agency.[15]

Lemonada Media's first launch was a narrative podcast breaking down the opioid crisis through personal interviews entitled Last Day.[16][17][18][19][20] Last Day was an honoree in two categories at the 2020 Webby Awards[21] and nominated for a 2020 iHeartRadio Music Award.[22] Its first episode focused on Kramer’s brother Stefano.[23]

In 2020, Lemonada Media raised $1.5 million through seed funding led by the venture capital firm Blue Collective.[15] In September of 2020, they collaborated with Julián Castro to launch Our America with Julián Castro, about poverty and inequality in America.[24]

Kramer also serves as Executive Producer for Lemonada Media’s other slated podcasts,[25] including No One Is Coming to Save Us,[26] a podcast hosted by ABC News’ Gloria Riviera and Special Correspondent Kristen Bell and produced in partnership with Neighborhood Villages.[27]

In July of 2021, Kramer started executive-producing Written Off,[28] a podcast featuring the voices of formerly incarcerated youth,[29] in collaboration with Jay Ellis’ Black Bar Mitzvah. The podcast has featured John Legend, Issa Rae, Keke Palmer, and Randall Park.

Inside Radio declared Kramer as one of 2020’s Top 10 Most Powerful People in Podcasting.[30] She partnered with new publishing house Spiegel and Grau.[31][32][33][34][35][36]

Personal life[edit]

Kramer lives in Minnesota with her husband, Eli, and their two children.[13]
