Jessica Martins is a Canadian movie producer and talent agent. She is based in Toronto, Canada.[1][2][3] Martins is known for producing the western movie Forsaken (2015), which won a Rosie Award at the Alberta Film & Television Awards.[4][5] In 2015, she was named Notable Young Entrepreneur.[6]

Career[edit]

Martins was born in Toronto to Portuguese parents. She graduated from York University in 2008, majored in a Bsc in psychology and minored in movie and television. She started her career as a model, modeling for several international contracts and major clients from 2005-2009. In 2009, she founded a talent agency Hero Artists Inc. based in Toronto, which has represented several actors and directors.[7][8][9][10] Some of the clients of Hero Artists are Disney, Netflix and Universal.[6] In 2013, she co-founded Lightbox Pictures along with Wilson DaSilva, later the company teamed up with United Front Entertainment to distribute movie contents across Canadian media platforms.[1] In 2015, she produced a western blockbuster Forsaken. It was nominated for several awards and won a Rosie Award in Best Make-Up category.[11][12]

In 2018, it was announced she would serve as an Executive Producer of The Last Full Measure (2019 movie), starring Christopher Plummer, Ed Harris, Samuel L Jackson and William Hurt.[13]
