Jesslyn Fax
Jesslyn Fax (January 2, 1893 - February 16, 1975) was a Canadian American Actress best known for portraying Miss Hearing Aid in the Alfred Hitchcock film, Rear Window. She also made background appearances in other Hitchcock films and appeared in several television shows, usually playing "little old lady characters."[1]
Life And Career[edit]
Fax was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. She made her first television and film appearances somewhat late in life, first appearing on I love Lucy. Fax landed her first film role in one of the arguably most notable Hitchcock Films, Rear Window, as one of Jeff's neighbors, an elderly deaf sculptress. Fax also made a background appearance in North by Northwest, as well The Don Knotts film The Ghost and Mr. Chicken and the 1962 musical The Music Man . She continued to appear on several T.V. shows including Alfred Hitchcock Presents, The Andy Griffith Show, and Batman. Jesslyn Fax died in 1975, at the age of 82.
