Jesús Salgado is a Spanish software architect and engineer specializing in astronomical data archives and distributed scientific infrastructure. He is known for his contributions to the design of major space science archives at the European Space Agency (ESA), his leadership within international standardization organizations like the IVOA and IPDA, and his current role as SKA Regional Centres Architect at the Square Kilometre Array Observatory (SKAO).

European Space Agency (ESA)
Salgado worked for over two decades at the European Space Agency (ESA), making major contributions to its data systems:

Since 2021, Salgado has served as SKA Regional Centres Architect at the Square Kilometre Array Observatory. He leads the design of the SRCNet, a globally distributed infrastructure to support the processing and delivery of data from SKA's next-generation radio telescopes.
His responsibilities include:
- Architecting the global data federation platform for the SKA Regional Centres.
