and Vietnam Veteran Ronald Davis. Her father's ancestors were Welsh and Scandinavian and trace their family to being in the United States prior to

the Revolutionary War. Her father was born in Tennessee. Her mother's ancestors include immigrants from Scotland and England, her grandmother being born in Nova Scotia, Canada where her family immigrated to from Scotland in the 1800s.

Education[edit]

Early career[edit]

Learning and Design[edit]

From 2000 to 2018, Jarvis worked as a trainer, instructional designer, consultant, project manager, and manager in the health care, service, and financial fields. She most recently specialized in employee training on regulatory and compliance learning program for JPMorgan Chase & Co.[2]

Further education[edit]

  • Jarvis worked as an adjunct professor for the NH Community Technical College in the Medical Assistant Program
  • Jarvis began her career with the Massachusetts Audubon Society until 1997 when she served as the Assistant Director of their 24-hour Environmental and Conservation camp[3] for students in 5 th – 10 th grade. She also worked as the trainer and coordinator of their student councilors in grades 11 and 12.

Politics[edit]

Jarvis joined the Libertarian Party of New Hampshire (LPNH) in 2016 and served as the Secretary of the Party from 2016 to 2018. She has been active in Party events and activities since including organizing the 2017 Libertarian Party of New Hampshire’s Annual Convention. In 2017, the LPNH saw increased attention as three sitting State Representatives defected from their Parties (two Republicans and one Democrat) to join the Libertarian Party. In 2016, Jarvis ran for Governor of New Hampshire as an Independent Candidate but failed to obtain the necessary signature requirement to obtain ballot access as an Independent.[4] In 2018, Jarvis ran for Governor of New Hampshire as a Libertarian and won the Libertarian Primary over opponent Aaron Day, former chair of the Free State Project.[5]

Jarvis' Platform[6] in 2018 focuses on:

  • Decreasing the opioid epidemic in New Hampshire through efforts such as increased mental health and treatment accessibility, legalization of cannabis, and moving more funding from incarceration to treatment.
  • Increasing government oversight and transparency by adding an oversight committee focused on hearing and investigating complaints and grievances with the authority to turn over criminal activity findings to the appropriate authorities and fining perpetrators of betrayals of public trust instead of the department (in order to eliminate the possibility of taxpayers paying for betrayals of taxpayer trust). She also proposes updating the State’s website to allow easier access to information including licensing forms and instructions.
  • Promotion of small business and entrepreneurs through a 5-year tax “ramp-up” program where a new entrepreneur of a small business would not pay any business tax in their first year, would pay one quarter’s tax the second year and would continue adding a quarter’s taxes until their fifth year when they would be responsible for their full tax liability. Jarvis hosted a rally on reforming DCYF in August 2018[7] where speakers included parents who had children taken by DCYF, a former family rights lawyer, and parents who were able to win their children back through DCYF. The rally was held to bring awareness to the problems in the current system and the need to reform the program.

Jarvis believes her campaign can appeal to both traditional Democrat and Republican voters.[8]

Personal life[edit]

Jarvis won one of the 20 Outstanding Women of New Hampshire (sponsored by WZID and Hannaford Supermarkets) in March 2018[9] for her work with the New Hampshire Community. Her efforts include organizing a gift donation drive for the homeless veterans supported by Liberty House[disambiguation needed] in Manchester New Hampshire, Organizing a water station for the Reach the Beach Relay Race in 2017 (an annual race to support different charities), bringing Thanksgiving meals to needy individuals, volunteering at New Horizons[disambiguation needed] to package food for the less fortunate, bringing food to homeless individuals in New Hampshire, and acting as the Medical Proxy and main contact for a neighbor, and former veteran dying of Cancer including arranging his funeral at the Boscawen Veteran’s Cemetery. She lives with her Husband, James, and their youngest son. She also has two step-children who are adults now, but still live in the state.
