Jim Anixter — Founder and President of "AZ Wire & Cable", the most well-known fan of Chicago Cubs.[1]. His father, Alan Anixter, is co-founder of Anixter.
Business
Jim is the son of Alan Anixter and nephew of William R. Anixter, who established Fortune Global 500 company Anixter in 1956. Thus, the boy was encouraged to acquire some basic business management skills[2]. "AZ Wire & Cable" was founded in 1988, operating with only 40,000 sq. ft. distribution center. The company, being a family business, has four serving vice-presidents: Jim's three sons and a daughter[3]. In 2015, the company made a significant leap, opening three more locations with sites in the Midwest, Northeast and West coast. Today, it carries a full inventory of more than $20 million, including rare and hard-to-find stock.[4]
Baseball (Cubs' games attendance)
Jim Anixter has owned tickets to all Chicago Cubs' games since 1967. Starting from 1990, he has been wearing a pink hat and sitting behind home plate at literally all its games[5]. The only game when Jim was caught not wearing his attribute hat was on September 7th, 2016, when he was honoured to make the 1st pitch[6]
