Sheriff started his Surveying career at Federal School of Surveying, Oyo, Nigeria where he obtained his National Diploma in Surveying and Geoinformatics with good grade (Upper Credit) from 2008 to 2010.

He had his one year internship at Kay-B Surveys (a Surveying and GIS firm based in Lagos, Nigeria) where he gathered both field and office experiences.

In 2011, Sheriff continued his academic pursuit for his Higher National Diploma in Surveying and Geoinformatics at Federal School of Surveying, Oyo where he graduated in 2014 as the best graduating student in his class (Distinction grade).

He had his one year compulsory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) at Imo State Polytechnic, Umuagwo, Nigeria from August 2014 to August 2015 where he served his fatherland passionately and diplomatically.

He was employed into the Lagos State Civil Service in 2015 where he works at the Office of the Surveyor General, Lagos till date.

Furthermore, he bagged his Postgraduate Diploma in Surveying and Geoinformatics at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Nigeria in 2017 with excellent grades (Distinction).

In November 2018 (19th-23rd), Sheriff was among the delegates that attended the Global Monitoring for Environment and Security & Africa (GMES & Africa), a global conference organized by the African Union in conjunction with the European Union at Libreville, Gabon. He participated actively in all sessions throughout the conference and had his input towards mitigating the environmental issues affecting Africa as a continent.

Sheriff was awarded a scholarship (Erasmus Mundus) to study Copernicus Master in Digital Earth (EMCDE) at the University of Salzburg, Austria and Palacky University Olomouc, Czech Republic.

He is focused on Earth Observation, GIS, Remote Sensing, Programming and Digital Earth.

Sheriff is a pupil surveyor under the Surveyors Council of Nigeria (SURCON), a professional regulating body overseeing the registration of surveyors under the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

He is a member of some professional associations in Nigeria and abroad namely Nigerian Institution of Surveyors, OSHAssociation UK (Health, Safety and Environment), Geoinformation Society of Nigeria, Geospatial Nigeria Forum, Young African Leaders Initiative among others.

In April 2019,Sheriff was selected as a member of the Organizing Committee (Treasurer and Sponsors Team) for the 6th Young Surveyors European Meeting (6YSEM) which was held in Porto, Portugal on the 11th - 12th, October 2019.

Then in August 2019, he was selected as a member of the Organizing Committee (Treasurer and Sponsors Team) for the FIG 5th Young Surveyors Network conference (5YSC) which will hold on the 09th - 10th, May 2020 in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
