Jivan Abrahamyan (born 6 July, 1961, died 20 July 1991) was a soldier for the Armenian Soviet Socialist Republic under the Armed Forces of Armenia and the greater Soviet Armed Forces. He was awarded by the Soviet Union the Medal of Valour and the title of National Hero of Armenia. Abrahamyan was involved in battles in the Shahumyan Province and the Gori Municipality of Georgia.[1] His most famous attack was with the Soviet Armed Forces in Buzulukh and Manashid, organising a resistance against Azerbaijan, and blocked the Shampraptuk Heights. He died in battle during the Defense of Kornidzor and was buried on 20 September 1996 in the Yerablur Military Cemetery. [2][3]
