Shahram Etemadi Rad (in Farsi: “شهرام اعتمادی راد”) professionally known by his stage name JIYAR (in farsi:”ژیار”) is a POP CLASSIC singer. He was born on May 14, 1976 in Iran.

Early life[edit]

During the age of ten, his beloved grandmother gave him a small piano keyboard. It was then that JIYAR discovered his love for music and started pursuing his life-long love of melody. He began taking professional piano lessons at the age of 14 with sincere devotion. After grasping classic science of music, JIYAR became fascinated with stringed instruments, especially the violin. In 1992, JIYAR set out to take violin lessons with the great Armenian instructor Zaven Yedigarian with much persistence. Yearning for mental liberation, the musician spends a good deal of time in nature. Being in nature gives JIYAR the freedom to express the inexpressible in his music. He believes the whole nature is vibration. Making spontaneous music that is inspired by nature is very connecting. It helps us become present, and that is a gift.

Film Career[edit]

JIYAR began his career way back in 1989 starring in the 1989 film “The Ball”[1] directed by YADOLLAH NOASRI. It was then that he realized he also had acting talent. He gained attention in a theater festival by making his first background music for the play “The Beach” in 1999. JIYAR’s zeal for composing and arranging dramatic music brought the budding artist to even higher levels of success. In those years, musicians in Iran weren’t appreciated much, so JIYAR had to pause his musical journal for a while. He majored in the field of software engineering and achieved a high level of skill in that field as well. JIYAR says, “the programming codes played the role of musical notes for me.”

Music Career[edit]

After migrating to Europe JIYAR decided to relaunch his music career. He released several singles featuring singers from France and Germany. JIYAR reflects ongoing social and political issues in his music. His single REQUIEM, featuring ESZTER VEGVARI and ALLEN ANTHONY with the opening narration by TIM STEPHENSON, is inspired by the war between Russia and Ukraine and how common people were involved in political conflicts and ambitions. Another single with a similar content is UNITY, the song JIYAR composed following the political unrest in Iran and performed it in Hamburg. The orchestra was directed by ERIC HARTMAN, the German musician. Since 1996, he has been taking lessons in vocal techniques, voicing and opera singing with the spinto tenor, GIANCARLO MONSLAVE.

JIYAR follows global ideas. He is fascinated by the music of nations. JIYAR’s music doesn’t target a specific audience, but the whole humanity with any belief or culture. Through his body of work, JIYAR continues his mission to help create peace, sharing with the world his message that “To bring peace to the world, we should free our minds from resentful thoughts against our peers and see the whole first, without which talking of peace will remain forever a mere joke. “.
