Jiyoon Hong
Jiyoon Hong (born 1992)[1] is a South Korean photographer based in Seoul. She received an MFA in Design & Photography from Hongik University in 2022 and Bachelors in Fine Art in Photography from Sangmyung University in 2017.[2] She endeavors to create "borderless art", through the creation of a virtual world or telling a story.[3] Her work is most known for 'fusing photography with color psychology and color data.'[4]
Hong was first recognized within the Korean photography scene when she was selected as one of the winners of the 2015 Future Photographer Award at Parkgeonhi Cultural Foundation (Canon Gallery) for Contact A (2015–2019), which started as her first attempt in color psychology using diptych technique.[5][6][7] She is one of the artists represented by PYO Gallery[8] and the 2021 winner of the NES Artist Residency in Iceland sponsored by Singulart.
