Joanne Nora Black (born October 25, 1974) is an Irish fashion entrepreneur, former model, and sustainability advocate. She won Miss Ireland in 1995. She is the founder of Aeraid PR, a sustainable fashion public relations agency.[1]

Early Life and education

Black was born in Cavan, Ireland, as the fourth of six children to Vincent and Norah Black. She was raised on her family's farm in Clonkeefy, located between County Cavan and County Meath, Ireland.

Black pursued higher education at the Limerick Institute of Technology, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art and Design. She later obtained a second Bachelor of Arts degree in Fashion Styling and Production from the London College of Fashion.

Career

Modeling

Black began her modeling career in 1990 with the Celia Holman Lee Agency. In 1995, she won the Miss Limerick Photogenic title, which led to her crowning as Miss Ireland the same year.

As Miss Ireland, Black represented her country at the 45th Miss World pageant in South Africa, where she met Nelson Mandela. She also participated in the 45th Miss Universe pageant, held in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Fashion Styling and Sustainable Fashion

Following her modeling career, Black transitioned into fashion styling. She worked with celebrities, and her styling work appeared in several fashion publications.

In 2015, Black relocated to Los Angeles to expand her career as a celebrity stylist. She collaborated with supermodel and philanthropist Petra Nemcova on several sustainable fashion initiatives.
