Jode Sheriffe (born 4 July 1986) is an English rugby league footballer who last played as prop for Dewsbury Rams, in the RFL Championship.

Early Years[edit]

He began playing rugby at seven years old for Illingworth ARLFC; remaining there until aged 14, then moving to Kings Cross under-15s. While at Kings Cross, Jode was scouted and signed up for Halifax Blue Sox scholarship programme.

Playing Career[edit]

Halifax RLFC[edit]

Jode made his first team debut, aged 19, in 2005. During this time he also spent some time on loan at Harlequins RL, who were then in Super League.

Bradford Bulls[edit]

Despite receiving the Academy’s Players’ Player award, and being captain of the Bradford Academy side, Jode was unable to make a first team appearance.

Featherstone Rovers[edit]

Jode made a number of first team appearances for Featherstone, but sustained a serious knee injury that ruled him out, and there after struggled to regain fitness, and resulted in a second operation.

Keighley Cougars[edit]

Jode was approached by head coach Jason Demetriou to join newly promoted Keighley.

International[edit]

Jode has made a number of appearances for Jamaica, making his debut against United States in Jacksonville, Florida in 2009.

Personal[edit]

Jode is the younger brother of Rikki Sheriffe.

As a qualified coach and with the help and support of his wife, Joleene, Jode started a rugby training business, Rugger Ratz, aimed principally for children aged 2-5+.
