Joe Horneck is a Canadian municipal politician who has served as the councillor for Ward 6 on Mississauga City Council since 2022.[1] He also serves as a regional councillor for the Regional Municipality of Peel.[2]

Early life and education

According to the City of Mississauga, Horneck earned a master's degree in international political economy from the University of Warwick and a double-honours BA in history and political science from Wilfrid Laurier University.[1]

Career

Before entering municipal politics, the City of Mississauga states that Horneck worked in the banking sector, including senior roles at vice-president and director level, and managed staff internationally.[1]

Political career

Horneck was elected as Mississauga city councillor for Ward 6 in the 2022 municipal election.[3] A local news report described him defeating incumbent councillor Ron Starr in Ward 6.[4]

Committee work

Horneck has served as chair of the City of Mississauga's Audit Committee.[5] The City of Mississauga also lists him as a member of multiple city committees and regional committees during the 2022–2026 term of council.[1]

Personal life

The City of Mississauga states that Horneck is married and has three children.[1]
