Joseph Hugley is an American college basketball coach and former player who is currently an assistant coach for the East Tennessee State Buccaneers.[1]
Playing career[edit]
Hugley began his collegiate career at Baltimore City Community College, where he averaged 13.5 points per game as a freshman during the 2016-17 season.[2]
Hugley played Division I basketball for two seasons at Central Connecticut where he was co-captain of the team in 2018-19.
Following his time at Central Connecticut, Hugley transferred to East Tennessee State. While at East Tennessee State, he played for one season under then head coach, Steve Forbes, as a graduate transfer. He would go on to play a key leadership role in ETSU’s run to a 30 win season in 2019-20.[3]
Coaching career[edit]
In June 2020, Hugley’s coaching career began as director of player relations under head coach Steve Forbes at Wake Forest.[4] On August 29, 2022, Hugley took an assistant coaching position at his alma mater, East Tennessee State University, under head coach Desmond Oliver.[5]
