Joe Kelliher

Joe Kelliher (born 27th April 1949) is an Irish-British businessman and former three times British Wrestling champion..[1]

Early Life

Kelliher was born in Kensington, London and was educated at Servite Roman Catholic Primary School and St Thomas More Roman Catholic Secondary School. He left school at age 16 and joined L Hammond & Co, a Lloyds of London insurance broker, delivering letters for the business across the city. In 1970, Kelliher first became an insurance broker, joining Bland Welch to work in the broking room at Lloyd’s of London. Five years later, in 1975, he joined Stewart Wrightson.

Business Success

In 1986 Kelliher left Stewart Wrightson to form Kerry London. The business opened the first office in the city of London in 1988. In 2011, Kerry London achieved its Lloyd’s of London accreditation and in 2013 the main holding group of the business was rebranded to Kelliher Insurance Group, of which Joe is the Lifetime President.[2]

Wrestling

Kelliher began wrestling at school. A successful career saw him win three British Wrestling Championships; Lightweight British Champion in both 1970 and 1972, and the Middleweight British Champion in 1977.

Personal Life

Kelliher is married and has four children, three daughters and one son.
