Joel Goldstein (born December 15, 1983 in Newton, Massachusetts) is an American entrepreneur who created the first retail distribution system[1] which relies on local purveyors[2] to stock and supply storefronts and brick-and-mortar establishments[3] and provides a platform to launch new products.[4] He is known for taking this idea to the popular television show Shark Tank.[5] He is also credited with founding the Goldstein Business Accelerator in Oviedo, Florida the Jewish Chamber of Commerce.[6] Goldstein is also credited with writing "The Millennial Leadership Manual"[7] which guides professionals on best practices of recruiting, training, and retaining top millennial talent.[8] He has been featured as an expert in The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Newsweek, CNBC and ABC News.[9]
Career[edit]
Goldstein started his career when he bought his father's business[10] and became the president of Mr. Checkout Distributors.[11] Mr. Checkout Distributors is a business that provides a launchpad for new products by allowing distribution through a network rather than a single supplier.[12][13] He is also a background consultant for several products featured on ABC's Shark Tank.[14]
Philanthropy[edit]
Goldstein is the founder of the Jewish Chamber of Commerce.[6] He has been a part of several philanthropic boards including the Citrus Club Young Executive Committee, Orlando Young Professionals,[15] Everglades University Advisory Committee.[16]
Goldstein sat as an organizer for the landmark conference MyRegion[17] where businesses partnered with government and civic leaders throughout Central Florida working together to develop a more conscious plan for developing the region.
He is currently working with the Blackstone Launchpad at the University of Central Florida as an Entrepreneur in Residence.[18]
Goldstein also founded the Goldstein Business Accelerator in Oviedo, Florida, which mentors startups in the Orlando, Florida area.[19]
