Joel Ringer (born 2 November 1996 (age 18) in Cardiff, Wales) is a young 18 year old rugby union player for RC Toulonnais. He is currently in their academy system. Joel is the son of Paul Ringer and the brother of Jamie Ringer, both former Welsh internationals. Joel joined RC Toulonnais earlier in 2015 after having a one week trial with the club.
He came through the ranks of Cardiff Blues u16s where he was coached by his brother Jamie, he then went on to gain his Welsh cap at u16 level, he was also chosen to tour South Africa with the Wales u18s squad but picked up an unfortunate injury days before the tournament started.
Unlike the two internationals in his family who were both flankers, he is a tighthead prop who stands at 191cm and 20 stone. In interviews with the BBC and Wales Online he has stated that he loves scrummaging, and an online compilation of Ringer in action show him scrummaging in the highest level of college rugby. He hopes to work hard in Toulon and learn from the array of stars that surround him, and from the great coaching staff of the first team, and academy team with the likes of Bernard Laporte, Thomas Whitford, Laurent Emmanuelli and Olivier Beaudon to show him the ropes.
