Biography

Johannes Allmayer was born in 1978 and grew up in Filderstadt, a town in southern Germany, and grew up on Lake Constance. Soon after finishing high school, Allmayer moved to Munich, Germany, where he began studying acting at the Bayerische Theaterakademie August Everding (English: Bavarian Theater Academy August Everding) located within the Prince Regent Theatre from 1999 to 2003.[3]

In 2003, after years of successful hard work in regional theaters, Allmayer moved to Düsseldorf and soon found a permanent position in the ensemble at the Düsseldorf Theater, including productions of Chekhov and Ibsen plays. Allmayer was cast in multiple television series such as; The Thief and The General (2004), Stages (2004), The Double Lot (2005), and My Murderer is Coming Back (2006).

These performances led Allmayer to his first feature film, the comedy Come In and Burn Out [de] (2007), which won Allmayer the Max Ophüls Prize and Film Score Award in 2008. Allmayer also starred in the short film Schautag (2009), which also won a Max Ophüls Prize in the best short film category.

Throughout the years, Allmayer has been cast in many German films and television projects, including his popularly known role of Alexander in the 2010 award-winning tragicomedy Vincent Wants to Sea. Alongside Florian David Fitz, Allmayer gives an unforgettable performance as he portrays a man with severe obsessive compulsive disorder.[4]
