John A. Cowan
John A. Cowan is an attorney based in El Paso, Texas. He was Assistant District Attorney for the State of Texas, 34th Judicial District, from 1974 to 1979,[1][2][3][4][5][6] and has since been a lawyer in private practice. He was formerly Vice Chairman of the R.E. Thomason General Hospital (now University Medical Center) of El Paso.[7]
He has a J.D. from St. Mary's University and a B.A. in Political Science from University of Texas at El Paso. In 1986, John and his brothers established the Cowan Scholarship at St. Mary's University, which endowed funds for needy and worthy students.[8]
