John Avery Emison was elected Mayor of Alamo, Tennessee, May 6, 2017. He defeated 31-year incumbent Tommy Green who is a former president of the Tennessee Municipal League.[1]
Emison is the author of two books at Pelican Publishing: Lincoln Über Alles and The Martin Luther King Congressional Cover-Up.[2] He has spearheaded the effort to release documents under seal by the U.S. House of Representatives that pertain to the King assassination.[3]
