John Berberian (born October 15, 1974 in Paterson, New Jersey) is a self-professed American healthcare entrepreneur from Atlanta, Georgia. A medical professional, Dr. Berberian is a Doctor of Chiropractic by trade and a graduate of Life University in Marietta, Georgia (2000). Dr. Berberian received his BS in Biology from the University of Rhode Island in 1996. He practiced Chiropractic Medicine for two years. Soon thereafter, he followed his passion for diagnostic testing. Berberian has lived in Atlanta since January 1997.[1][2][3]

Career[edit]

In 2003, Dr. Berberian founded Proactive Medical Diagnostics, LLC. Proactive Medical Diagnostics was a mobile nerve conduction, needle EMG and musculoskeletal ultrasound company. In all, Dr. Berbarian employed 16 technicians traveling across 16 states.[4]

In 2009, he started United Allergy Laboratories, LLC, with divisions in Georgia and Texas. United Allergy Laboratories was a proprietary platform offering allergy scratch testing and immunotherapy for environmental airborne allergens. After growing the company into 9 states, Dr. Berberian sold half of his interests to Private Equity Company. Private Equity Company went on to expand to over 30 states and 1,200 employees.

In 2012, Dr. Berberian launched WellCorpRx. WellCorpRx provided a low-cost solution to onsite employee medical screenings and off-site treatment. The company focused on providing patients natural health solutions through preventive counseling, nutrition, and Type 2 diabetes prevention/reversal.

In 2016, Dr. John Berberian, established HSD Consultants, LLC and Hospital Services Direct. These firms provided consulting services to small hospitals, helping smaller organizations improve their clinical laboratory through advanced equipment and new testing platforms. Dr. Berberian’s innovative consulting model enabled him to compete with the larger laboratories, such as LabCorp and Quest. These hospitals are unique, as they maintain in-network contracts with all major providers, as opposed to an independent clinical laboratory.

In 2018, Berberian invested in a genetic laboratory in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This led to the launch of a Pharmacogenomic (PGX) and Hereditary Cancer (CGX) Testing platform. The PGX and CGX platform provides a once-in-a-lifetime test covered by most insurance payers. The PGX test provides information on how an individual metabolizes drugs through different pathways. It takes the guesswork out of which drug to take, how much to take, and which drugs to avoid. The CGX test indicates if or when an individual has a genetic disposition for cancer among the different organs of the body. This test became very popular after Angelina Jolie did a BRCA 1 and BRCA 2 test and got positive results. After the test, Jolie took preventive action and had a mastectomy. This test allows the patient and physician to take immediate preventive measures before the patient develops full blown cancer.

In 2019, Dr. Berberian invested in a similar laboratory with locations in Lewisville, Texas, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania and Kissimmee, Florida.

In 2020, after the Covid-19 Pandemic struck, Dr. Berberian and others converted the Kissimmee lab into a Covid-19 PCR testing facility.

In 2021, he launched Millenia Advanced Scientific, LLC, a state-of-the-art infectious disease laboratory in Orlando, Florida. This lab is primarily designed to conduct Covid-19 PCR testing with same-day (24 hour) turnarounds.

Recent Accomplishments[edit]

Most recently, Dr. Berberian started 3D Medical Supplies, LLC, a manufacturing company. Dr. Berberian and his team began with a 3D nasopharyngeal swab and later expanded to injection molding for greater comfort and throughput. Harvard University completed the company study, and 3D Medical Supplies, LLC, is now listed in the FDA Registry.

Dr. Berberian launched this firm due to supply chain issues with China, including those needed for the company’s own laboratories. 3D Medical Supplies then allowed other labs in the US to purchase testing supplies for half of the cost as well as to avoid trade issues with China.

3D Medical Supplies is now in the process of manufacturing Viral Transport Media (VTM) in their own Orlando Lab Clean Room. The company can produce 4000 vials per hour.

Hobbies and Personal Interests[edit]

Together, Dr. Berberian and his fiance have three rescue animals, including Lola (from the Atlanta Humane Society), Suzie (from the beach of Colombia) and Candy (from the Blue Ridge Mountains).
