John E. Blazier

John E. Blazier is a noted Indy 500 race historian and an expert in Indianapolis 500 race memorabilia. His book FORGOTTEN HEROES OF THE SPEEDWAYS: THE RIDING MECHANICS has been sold around the world. He has also authored many auto racing articles for the Hungness Indianapolis 500 Yearbook including THE BRICKYARD: THE LEGENDARY BRICKS OF INDY, and, RARE CREDENTIALS OF THE INDIANAPOLIS 500. On January 1, 1985 he founded The National Indy 500 Collectors Club which memberships include collectors from the United States and several foreign countries. He was inducted into The Indianapolis 500 Oldtimers Association in 2011. In 1992 he was awarded the Hometown Hero Award by Indiana Governor Evan Bayh for donating several of his books to worthwhile charities.
