John Francis Zasadzinski is an American physicist who is a professor of physics at the Illinois Institute of Technology. His research considers electron tunneling studies of superconductors using planar, point-contact and STM junctions.

Zasadzinski graduated from Illinois Benedictine College with a B.S. in physics. He received his Ph.D. from Iowa State University working at Ames National Laboratory.[2][3] He is the the Paul and Suzi Schutt Endowed Chair in Science, which he received shortly after being elected as a Fellow of the American Physical Society in 2010. He previously served as the chair of the biological, chemistry, and physics department at IIT.
