John L. Molinelli

John L. Molinelli (born 1957) is an American lawyer who served two term appointments as Prosecutor of Bergen County, New Jersey from 2002-2016.[1]

Early life and education[edit]

Molinelli was born in Jersey City, New Jersey. He was raised in Wood-Ridge, New Jersey,[Sloan, Patricia Helbig; and Cassidy, Catherine. Wood-Ridge, p. 118. Arcadia Publishing, 2004. He graduated from Assumption School and Wood-Ridge High School and went on to Rutgers University and New York University Law School.] where he attended the Assumption School and was a 1975 graduate of Wood-Ridge High School. He graduated from Rutgers University in 1979 with a B.A. Degree in Political Science, received his Juris Doctor degree in 1982 from the New York Law School and a Diplomat in Municipal Law in 1991 from the Rutgers University Bureau of Government Research.[2]

Career[edit]

Molinelli served as a Judicial Clerk to the Honorable Frederick W Kuechenmeister in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Criminal Part, Bergen County New Jersey from September 1982 to August 1983. Thereafter he was associated with Wallington lawyer Dennis A. Maycher as associate and partner until February, 1994.

In February, 1994, Molinelli became a member of the Hackensack law firm of Herten Burstein Sheridan Cevasco Bottinelli & Litt, where he practiced government law, public sector labor negotiations and litigation.[3]

In 2002 he was appointed as a prosecutor for Bergen County. He continued in this position until 2015, when he was retired and returned to private practice.[4][5]
