John Riddle is an American stage actor who is most well known for being the last actor to play Raoul, Vicomte de Chagny in the original Broadway production of The Phantom of the Opera and originating the role of Prince Hans in the Broadway production of Frozen.[1]
Career
Riddle started his career doing many productions at The Muny. He made his Broadway debut in the cast of The Visit in April 2015 playing the role of Young Anton.[2]
In 2016, he was in an Off-Broadway concert version of The Secret Garden.[3]
In 2018, he joined the original Broadway cast of Frozen creating the role of Prince Hans. He left the cast in February 2019, being replaced by Joe Carroll.[4]
In September 2019, Riddle took over the role of Raoul, Vicomte de Chagny in the Broadway production of The Phantom of the Opera. He stayed with the show through its closing in April 2023. He left the show for several months in 2022 and 2023, being filled in for by Jordan Donica,[5] Jason Forbach,[6] and Paul Adam Schaefer.[7]
In 2022, he played Cal in the Off-Broadway production of Titanique.[5]
