John Sudheer (born as Sudheer Kumar Pudhota) on 29th of December, 1974 is an Indian film producer, entrepreneur and the Managing Director of RAMA Group.
Early Life[edit]
John was born in the State of Erstwhile, Andhra Pradesh in South India, to Swarna Mary and Maraiah Pudhota. John’s grandparents were religiously devout and they had a deep influence on him.
Education[edit]
John attended Ranchi University where he pursued a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology, Economics, History and Political Science.
Career[edit]
John started his career in 1994 with Missionaries of Brothers, working with the poor in Jamaica but later returned to India where he worked for a family business venture in supplying education materials to schools. John fully understood the best practices of trading in one of the most agriculturally dominant economies of Thailand and India.
1996 – 2000[edit]
In 1996 he left for Africa, where he was instrumental in defining a path to profitability for a Pharmaceutical company called Kas Medics in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The venture was marked by tremendous success and it spread out to a majority of East Africa and certain regions of Southern Africa, including Mozambique.
In 1999, he moved to Asia, where he started an Indian restaurant business. He successfully ran three restaurants in Pattaya, Coral island, and Bangkok in Thailand before he sold the ventures to his partner and moved to trading business where he exported red chilly to Thailand, Indonesia, and Malaysia under his trading company called Ave Nishi Impex private limited.
2001 – 2004[edit]
In 2001, John started a trading outfit called M/S Avi Nishi Impex Pvt Limited, which imported and exported commodities across this region. During this period, it grew to be a leading organization handling up to 15% of the red chilly trade from South India in this domain. With so much happening in the global scenario through Information Technology upheavals and disruptive forces to traditional business practices, John used his wealth of knowledge to contribute to the Information Technology domain through Atiens Software, an enterprise software solution for the media and entertainment industry.
2005 – Present[edit]
He founded the RAMA Group [1], incorporating a diversified group of companies involved in healthcare, education, business consulting, import and export trade, mobile application platform development, and film and television productions. RAMA Group has and is continuing to develop partnerships in India, Hong Kong, China, Korea, Japan, Indonesia and Malaysia with the goal of uniting Asia under a singular entertainment umbrella. John is well admired and recognized for bringing together the best that Asia has to offer in entertainment, health care, education, and information technology.
Movie Industry Experience[edit]
With extensive experience in the Indian movie industry, including association with over 50 productions, RAMA is now building a presence across all major Asian markets, including China, South Korea, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand and Japan, with the ultimate aim to become the market leader in the Asian entertainment industry.
Having helped set up first organized production facilitation of Indian movies in Thailand in 2005 that later developed into a full-fledged production house providing service to many Indian movies shooting in Thailand John has started working with several Indian movie producers before starting to produce his own movies.
John has introduced Thai movie star Sawika Chaiyadech to the Indian movie industry in 2011 through a Tamil movie project and later in 2014 starred the actress in his own production, Emo Gurram Egaravachu alongside popular star Sumanth.
In 2017, John had set up the first Indian owned production company in Malaysia, ‘RAMA UNITING ASIA BERHAD’ and is in the process of launching the first project in 2018. This project will involve Malaysian and Indonesian element and will be released in both markets. Also, in 2017 John took RAMA Group to China as Shengya Culture and Media and acquired a stake in a Shanghai-based production company Uing Holdings.[2]
In April 2018, John signed an MOU with the Ningbo local government administration in China, setting up the first foreign media company in China, Hanya Culture and Media. Hanya is working on a project in line with the Chinese government’s ‘belt and road initiative’ to produce a movie involving five Asian countries to start with. Apart from the movie, Hanya is working to set up movie talent café in Ningbo to promote local movie talents as well as deal with content trading. [3] [4]

• John was honored as the Masterclass Emerging Entrepreneur of the Year at Far East Business Leadership Awards in 2016 organized by Sino-Europe Industry and Business Association and World Chinese Business Affairs Association.[5]
• Top 100 Most Influential Sustainable Entrepreneurs by Asia Pacific CSR Council whose purpose is to advance the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations. [6]
• Honorary Title “Datuk” by the Indonesian Government, 2016
• Commonwealth Youth Award on November 2nd, 2017 for Business Excellence by the Commonwealth Council
• Honorable Role Model 2017 at Worldwide Excellence Award (WEA) CIRCLE Awards Malaysia 2017
• John was honored during the Global Responsible Business Leadership Awards 2017 for his Film Production Excellence[7]
• On August 24, 2017, John was named One of the Top 100 Most Influential Sustainable Entrepreneurs 2017 by Asia Pacific CSR Council whose purpose is to advance the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations.
