The John Wells series is a spy novel series written by Alex Berenson. It is based around John Wells, a CIA agent who, throughout the novels, infiltrates terrorist cells and handles multiple high risk situations[1][2][3]. The series includes many characters, such as Wells' handler, partner, and fiancée, Jennifer Exley. Well's missions have ranged from fight terrorism in Afghanistan, China, and America

Summary[edit]
The Faithful Spy begins a few months after the September 11th terrorist attacks on the United States, with the main character, John Wells, in the middle of a battle in Afghanistan. During the battle he and his crew of Al-Qaeda members are on a hillside where a group of United States Marines is stationed. The small Al-Qaeda band is planning to attack the Marines to help with a bigger battle that is raging below, and Wells decides to take out the terrorists himself so he can send a message to his CIA contact via the Marines: "No prior knowledge of 9/11. Say hi to Heather for me."

Summary[edit]
Even after John Well's heroism in the first novel, his handlers are distrustful of him, and he of them. Wells is now back in Washinton D.C. HIs wounds have heald, but his mind is far from clean. He is restless, uneasy in his skin, and carelress with his saftey. When the CIA finds evidence of a surge in Taliban activity, backed by a unknown foreign power, it takes little to convience wells to return to Afganistan to investigate. What he discovers once he gets there, is far from what he expected.

Summary[edit]
The Silent Man follows The Ghost War and the last two years haven't been easy for John Wells. Missions in Afghanistan, China, and America have taken a heavy toll on his body, his psyche, and even his soul. Now he is living quietly in Washington, DC, trying to gather his strength and build his relationship with his lover Jennifer Exley. But his past is about to reach out for him, and for Exley.
Meanwhile, almost 6,000 miles away, terrorists are trying to steal a nuclear weapon, hoping to use it to provoke an all-out nuclear war between the United States and Russia. When the two plots come together, Wells will be faced with the most wrenching choice of his life—and have the slimmest of chances to prevent Armageddon.
