John Wilkinson (architect)

John Wilkinson (April 9, 1923 – April 2, 2001) was a native of Lancashire, England and was a founding partner of Building Design Partnership.

Wilkinson was a graduate of the Victoria School of Architecture, University of Manchester, and a Fellow of the Royal Institute of British Architects. He was past president of the North Lancashire Society of Architects, past chairman of the Royal Institute of British Architects' Building Controls Panel, and a frequent lecturer at the University of Edinburgh School of Architecture and the University of York.

In 1970, as part of President Lyndon B. Johnson's Operation Breakthrough, and at the invitation of Holiday Inns Inc., Wilkinson opened TSG International, Inc., in Memphis, Tennessee. In 1977, he formed BWB Associates together with Robert Lee Brown and Claude Braganza. He served as president until forming Wilkinson and Graham with Walker W. Graham in 1984. Upon his retirement in 1991, he moved to Atlanta, GA.

Wilkinson served in HM Royal Navy during World War II, serving both in Australia and Russia. He had one daughter and three sons.
