Jonathan Micheal Shuemaker (Born May 7, 1992) is an American multi-instrumentalist, Composer, and Songwriter based out of Norfolk, Virginia. [1]
Musical Background[edit]
Jon started playing music as a drummer. He is primarily self-taught playing guitar, bass, and piano as well. From 2011-2013 he was the drummer for progressive metal band Mind's I. [2] They released an EP produced by members of Born of Osiris. [3] [4] Since 2015, he plays guitar and drums for the band Anoka which encompasses jazz and fusion elements. [5] [6] However in his solo endeavors he spans many genres. The genres he commonly returns to and are prominent in his sound are Progressive Rock and Metal with electronic & world music elements. He has over 60 releases as a solo artist and continues writing and actively recording. All of which are released under his record label Shuemaker Recordings. [7]
