Jonah Sezzin Platt (born November 17, 1986).[1] is an American performer, director, producer, and writer[2]. He is best known for his role as Fiyero in Wicked, as well as performing in Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert and in the Lifetime film I'll Be Watching[3]
Early life[edit]
Platt was born in Los Angeles, California, the third of five children of Julie (née Beren) and Marc Platt. His father is a film, television, and theater producer whose credits include Legally Blonde, Into the Woods, La La Land, Mary Poppins Returns, and the musical Wicked.[4] He has two older sisters and two younger brothers, including actor and singer Ben Platt.[5] He and his family are Jewish.[6]
He graduated from Harvard-Westlake School in 2004[7] and from the University of Pennsylvania in 2008, where he studied creative writing[8] and was the musical director of the a capella group Off The Beat for all of his four years.[9]

Television[edit]
After college, he was hired as a writers assistant for Parks and Recreation, Running Wilde and Family Guy. He then became a writer on Mr. Robinson.[10]
His first television role was as a frat boy in the finale of The Office, where he had previously worked as an executive assistant. He has also appeared in the television series Parenthood, Superstore, Curb Your Enthusiasm, A Million Little Things, and Country Comfort, and in the television movies Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert and I'll Be Watching. His voice roles include Milton Moss in Trolls: The Beat Goes On! and Clayface in Harley Quinn, as well as a singer in Paw Patrol.[11]
He was a contestant on Jeopardy! in February 2018.[12]
Theatre[edit]
Platt starred in the 2013 Los Angeles revival of the Damon Intrabartolo–Jon Hartmere pop opera Bare. He played the lead role of Jason, for which he was nominated for Best Actor by Broadway World[13]. He has since appeared in productions of Spring Awakening, Hair, American Idiot, Floyd Collins, and The Hunchback of Notre Dame.[14] In 2015, he made his Broadway debut as Fiyero in Wicked. He then joined Off-Broadway's Nassim as a guest star on January 11, 2019.[15]
His directing credits include IAMA Theater Company's Broadway Backwards and the Blank Theater production of Dog Sees God: Confessions of a Teenage Blockhead. He also directed and produced One Night Stand: An Improvised Musical.
Personal life[edit]
Platt married dancer Courtney Galliano on September 4, 2016.[16] Their son Joseph Michael Platt was born in March 2018.[17]
