Biography[edit]

Ferris was raised in Greenwich Village, New York City.[3] In 1993, he graduated from Manhattanville College after which he worked for several funds: Bull & Bear Fund and American Heritage Fund.[4] In 1997, he graduated from the University of Georgia Business School.[4] He co-founded with his University of Georgia classmate Jason Burr, the Ann Arbor, Michigan-based Maxfunds.com Inc.[4][5] MaxFunds focuses on providing information on new and small funds that are generally not covered by the major publications and have less of a performance record.[4]

Criticism[edit]

Ferris was criticized in the wake of the murder of Jamal Khashoggi for saying about Saudi Arabia that it "is one of the safest places to be a journalist in the world." He defended Saudi Arabia on the basis of its contributions to the US economy, including investments in Silicon Valley.[6]
