Criticism[edit]
Ferris was criticized in the wake of the murder of Jamal Khashoggi for saying about Saudi Arabia that it "is one of the safest places to be a journalist in the world." He defended Saudi Arabia on the basis of its contributions to the US economy, including investments in Silicon Valley.[6]
