Jonathan Gavin
Jonathan Gavin (26 April 1966 – 5 February 2013)[1] was a British World Masters Champion judoka.[2]

Early life
Jonathan had been involved in martial arts since he was eight years old in 1974.[3]
Career
Jonathan claimed the gold medal at the Scottish Senior Championships Glasgow in 1997.[4] Jonathan rose to the height of 6th Dan and was the World Masters Judo Champion Phoenix Arizona USA in 2001.[5][6][7] He also carried the Olympic Torch through Cumbernauld after being nominated to be a Torchbearer by the British Judo Association.[8]
Death
Jonathan died on 5th February 2013.[9] He was battling with brain cancer.[10] He is survived by his wife Anne Marie and their three children Stacey, Shaun and Josh.[11][12]
