Biography[edit]

Jordan Blake is an American vocalist, notable for being the original lead vocalist of post-hardcore band A Skylit Drive and lead vocalist of other various projects. He has also performed in a number of other bands, including Ann Arbor, Trances, Watchout! There's Ghosts, and Speak of the Devil. Jordan Blake is well known for being an early pioneer of the high-pitched clean vocals mixed with screaming in the post-hardcore music scene.

Jordan Blake was born in Lodi,California (June 20, 1986). He has a brother and a sister. Although he goes by the name "Jordan Blake" his real name is Jordan Stribling (Blake being his middle name)

Jordan struggled with Heroin addiction for many years and also abused other substances.

Blake died in April of 2023 due to complications with his type 1 diabetes.

Musical Career[edit]

A Skylit Drive (2005-2007, 2022)[edit]

Jordan Blake joined A Skylit Drive in 2005. He was featured on She Watched The Sky. Jordan was featured in the music video for the album's single "Drown The City" [1] In 2007, it was announced that Jordan left A Skylit Drive due to health concerns. In 2022 he rejoined and played anniversary shows with the band.

Watchout! There's Ghosts (2008-2012, 2017-2022)[edit]

After leaving ASD, Jordan Blake and Joshua Stotts formed Watchout! There's Ghosts. The band signed to Rise Records and released one album titled "Ghost Town". The band released one music video, using their single "The Shakeup[2]" In 2012 the band rumored to release a second album titled "Ghost Town 2.0" but it was never released. In 2017 the band was rebooted and in 2023 a new song was released called "Hollow" after Blake passed away.

Trances (2010-2011)[edit]

Jordan Blake and DJ Blackard (who was also a member of Watchout! There's Ghosts for a brief period) formed Trances and self released one EP "The Alphament".

Speak of the Devil (2012-2014)[edit]

Jordan Blake and Joey Wilson (ex-guitarist of A Skylit Drive) formed the band Speak of the Devil in 2012. They released "American Whore Story" and Joey Wilson left the band shortly after. In 2014 added the members Michael Vargas, Wade Walters, Zak Elliott, and Josh Miller. With this lineup, they released one single "Change[3]". Richie Abelia (Blake's bandmate later on in Watchout! There's Ghosts) was also a member for a brief period of time.

Eleven (2018-2019)[edit]

Jordan formed the band eleven with various members that have not all be discussed. The band released a number of demos on soundcloud and in 2020 revealed an unreleased music video filmed in 2018. The music video was titled "unreleased track".

Ann Arbor (2004-2005)

Ann Arbor was a band Blake singed for when he was in Highschool before he started A Skylit Drive, not much is known about the group, it's a common misconception that many people think Ann Arbor was a early formation of A Skylit Drive however they were 2 different bands, Josh Stotts (Blake's bandmate in his later band Watchout! There's Ghosts) was also a member of this band.


Random Intelligence (2003-2005)

Random Intelligence was Blake's first band started in 2003 and lasted until 2005, the band consisted of Jordan Stribling On Lead Vocals, Chris Wilson on Lead Guitar, Josh Stotts On Rythem and Back Up Guitar, Aaron Hall on bass, Jerry Paterson on Drums. This band broke up and became A Skylit Drive after Jordan Stribling and Jerry Paterson joined forces with members of another band that broke up called Farcus (Joey Wilson & Brian White)
