Jordon Jahkari Myers (born November 19, 1998) is an American professional basketball player for the Houston Ballers of the Junior Basketball Association (JBA). A standout player at North Crowley High School since his freshman season, he was a three-star recruit heading into college. He chose to play for Hutchinson Community College instead of an NCAA Division I program, but later decided to bypass college altogether and join the JBA.

High school career[edit]

In his freshman season, Myers was a starting guard for North Crowley High School in Forth Worth, Texas, becoming the first true freshman to start under head coach Tommy Brakel. He was labeled the "state's best freshman basketball player" by the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, earning District 3-5A Newcomer of the Year honors.[1] Myers was a part of Mo Williams Elite on the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) circuit as well, playing alongside highly-touted recruits Malik Newman and Terrance Ferguson.[1] As a sophomore, he drew national attention for his slam dunking ability, being labeled by USA Today High School Sports as "almost unstoppable."[2] In December 2014, at the Whataburger Tournament,, he led his team to the consolation title, scoring a game-high 22 points against South Grand Prairie High School.[3]

Myers finished his senior season at North Crowley as a three-time District 4-6A most valuable player (MVP). In his senior year, he averaged 17.4 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks, leading his team in all categories, and becoming only the second four-year letterman in program history.[4] He also made the Star-Telegram Super Team first-team.[5]

In May 2017, Myers announced that he planned on attending Hutchinson Community College in Hutchinson, Kansas, who were reigning National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) champions in basketball, with the possibility of later transferring to an NCAA Division I program.[4] He was considered a three-star recruit, and the 17th best prospect in Texas, by 247Sports.com. Myers drew interest from prominent Division I programs, including Kansas, Kentucky, and North Carolina. In addition to those major universities, he also received offers from other solid collegiate programs like Baylor and Texas Tech.[6] However, Myers would not play a single game with Hutchinson Community College during what would have been his freshman season there.[7]

Professional career[edit]

In April 2018, Myers joined the Houston Ballers of the Junior Basketball Association (JBA).[8] In his debut JBA game on June 23, 2018, Myers recorded a double-double of 22 points and a game-high 14 rebounds in a blowout 116–91 win over the New York Ballers.[9] Three days later, Myers recorded career-highs with 36 points and 20 rebounds (alongside a season-high 4 assists) in a 125–117 overtime loss to the Chicago Ballers.[10] On July 26, Myers nearly had a triple-double with 33 points, 14 rebounds, and 8 assists in a 169–153 loss to the Los Angeles Ballers.[11] He was later named to the West roster for the JBA All-Star Game.[12] Myers averaged 22.7 points, 10.9 rebounds, and 2.2 steals per game, shooting 52 percent on field goals during the inaugural JBA season. He will try out for the Austin Spurs in the NBA G League.[13]

Personal life[edit]

Myers was born to father Greaylin Myers, and has a younger brother named Jaiden. He regularly trained with them as a basketball player while in high school.[1]
