João Coelho de Souza (allegedly March 10, 1884? – August 24, 2017) was a rubber tapper who lived in Northern Brazil. He was allegedly the oldest man in the world,[1][2] though research has not revealed anyone with the same name born in Meruoca in 1884.[2] If his age was correct, he could also have been the oldest man to have a son.[3] The oldest person ever, according to Guinness World Records, is Jeanne Calment, who lived to the age 122.[2][4][5]
He died on August 24, 2017.[6]
