Biography
Peterburs was born on November 25, 1924, in St. Paul, Minnesota. His father was born in Germany and later came to the U.S.A. The initial plan was that Peterburs should become a priest and received the education for that profession. This plan stopped because he became acquainted with his girlfriend named Josephine.[2]
In 2005 Peterburs met his opponent from the end of the war, Walter Schuck, in person during a visit by Schuck to the US.[3] They became friends until Walter Schuck passed away in 2015.[4]
