Joe Daniels (Joseph Daniels) is an established leader in the nonprofit sphere. Education
Joseph Daniels has earned a J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania’s Carey Law School and a B.A. in history from Washington University in St. Louis.
Career
Daniels was the founding president and CEO of the National September 11 Memorial and Museum. As such, Joe Daniels, as CEO, led planning, development, ramp-up, and ongoing operations for the organizations for 10 years. Under his leadership, the organization raised over $500 million, grew to have over 500 personnel, and an operating budget of over $80 million. While in this position, he worked closely with his chairman, Michael R. Bloomberg. Joseph Daniels also worked with over 40 other directors, business and cultural leaders, and 9/11 family members.
After leaving the 9/11 Memorial and Museum, Joe Daniels became the CEO and president of the National Medal of Honor Museum. There, he led the effort to create the United States’ first institution dedicated to preserving the legacies of recipients of this medal. The Medal of Honor is the country's highest honor for valor in combat.
After leaving this position, Joe Daniels went on to become America250 CEO and president. There, his work revolved around building an excellent team that developed the vision and blueprint for the celebrations that will surround the 250th anniversary of America's independence. A year later, Joseph Daniels’ America250 involvement ended as he sought new opportunities.
Joseph Daniels CEO has been recognized by multiple organizations for his leadership skills and talent. Notable accolades include being made a Henry Crown Fellow, a US-Japan Leadership Fellow, and a British American Project Fellow.
Personal Life
Joe Daniels America250 CEO and his wife Naomi have lived in New York City for 25 years, with more than 20 of those spent in Lower Manhattan. They have three children, are active in the community, and are members of Tamid: The Downtown Synagogue.
