Born to a primary school teacher in Western province Zambia whom he described as being the 'most guileless woman' in his life. However, after the demise of his mother at the age of 11 moved with his uncle to Zambia's second largest city of Ndola where he grew up. Then later got admission at the University of Namibia were he was elected to serve as the President of the Student Representative Council.[3] He was heavily involved student activities, becoming the second international student in the University's history to be elected President of the Student Representative Council in 2017. During the time, he gained popularity among Namibian students and youth for his involvement in students'demand for services.[4] Then Kalimbwe along with three of his colleagues were relieved of their duties after an attempt to use an unused student cafeteria at the University's Windhoek Main Campus for study purposes. The news of their dismissal was first reported in the Namibian newspaper in the evening of 29th May 2017[5]. After their dismissal due to the influence, students began to mobilize themselves on social media with the assistance the Namibian National Students Organization (NANSO) and members of the Student Council[6]. Based on his experience of youth activism around the world[7] He was arrested at a student protest on campus and was bailed out by hundreds of student supporters who contributed $82 bail fees for his release a day later after been arrested[6]. After his release, he addressed students who paid his bail and urged them to stand for their future. Less than two months later, he wrote a memoir detailing his life & youth leadership journey[8]. He is a regular speaker on youth issues, Kalimbwe and his friends tackled African issues in youth dialogue[9]. In it, he expressed thoughts to his departed mother, "You would understand that my struggles of self identify are not mine alone, they are yours too. The childhood plans I had to become a pilot have now been consumed by the need to do my part in making my society better". He continues writing by telling a story of his generation, "lately he has been contemplating of what we have become as youths. Our willingness to live lives which are not really our own. Our refusal to get involved in issues that matter". He also expressed his admiration for the 44 President of the United States Barack Obama.
