This is a Korean name; the family name is Lee.

Joseph Lee (born Joe Yun Lee; December 29, 1987) is a Korean-American actor and fine-artist living and working in Los Angeles.[1]

Lee made his Sundance debut in the feature film Searching (film) (originally titled Search) which won the Audience Award in the NEXT Category at the 2018 festival.[2] The film was released by Sony on August 24, 2018.[3]

Also in 2018, Joseph Lee worked as a series regular in South Korea. His role was Geum Sung-Moo on the KBS episodic The Miracle We Met, one of the highest rated television shows in South Korea during the spring of 2018.[4][5]

Early life[edit]

Lee's parents emigrated from South Korea.[6] He was born in Phoenix, Arizona, raised in Indiana, and began acting on stage while studying political science and history at Purdue University.[7]

Career[edit]

Lee moved to Los Angeles in 2011 and began working on stage and television.[8]

His television performances include roles on TNT's Rizzoli & Isles and NCIS: Los Angeles on CBS.[9]

On stage, Lee received the Hollywood Fringe Festival’s Male Golden Performer Award in 2014 for his performance in the play VENGEANCE CAN WAIT.[10][11]

Personal life[edit]

Away from the stage and set lights, Joseph Lee is also an accomplished painter who has been commissioned to paint murals[12][13] and has exhibited artwork throughout the world at venues such as Mirus Gallery in Denver and San Francisco, and SCOPE Basel Switzerland.[14][15][16]
