Joseph Vasica
Joseph Vasica (1921–2008) was an Austrian-born American abstract painter associated with the mid-20th-century art scene in San Francisco. He was known for large-scale abstract compositions created primarily during the 1960s and 1970s. His work is noted for its exploration of color fields and non-representational form, aligning him with post-war abstract movements in mid-century American art Abstract expressionism .[1]
His work was exhibited in galleries and museums in California and New York, and is included in the collection of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA).[2]

His works are also in several private collections. Art Collectors Paul and Charlotte Corddry commented in a piece for the Naples Daily News that in the 1960’s, Joseph Vasica’s piece was their first purchase. < ref name= "NaplesDailyNews" />
Style and reception Vasica’s paintings are associated with mid-century abstraction and have been described as emphasizing subtle tonal transitions and structural composition.
