Josh Cameron (born March 24, 2003) is an American football wide receiver for the Baylor Bears.

Early life and high school[edit]

Cameron grew up in Cedar Park, Texas and attended Cedar Park High School, where he lettered for both football and basketball. Carl Abseck coached him in football. During high school, he became the football team captain, and he was awarded the First-Team All-District and the CPHS Offensive MVP for both his junior and senior seasons. During his junior season in 2019, Cameron helped the team to an 11–2 record and to make it to round three of the playoffs. By the end of the season, he completed 80 receptions for 1,127 yards and 14 touchdowns. During his senior season in 2020, Cameron led the team to a 14–1 record and made it to the state championship game.[1] By the end of the season, he completed 90 receptions for 1,226 yards and 14 touchdowns and was also awarded as the Austin American-Statesman All-Area pick.[2][3]

College career[edit]

On February 2, 2021, Cameron announced on Twitter that he would be committing to play college football at Baylor.[4]

Baylor[edit]

Cameron redshirted during his true freshman season in 2021. He played in the final three games, but did not record any stats.[2]

During the 2022 season, Cameron had a breakout season, playing in all 13 games and starting four of them. He was ranked fourth on the team with 28 catches and second in yards with 386. He also had 23 catches for 315 yards in Big 12 play and over the last five games of the year, had 21 catches for 327 yards, averaging 4.2 catches and 65.4 yards per game.[2][5]

During the 2023 season, he played in all 12 games and started seven of them, finishing the season with 21 catches with 224 yards.[6]
