Joshua Bassett's Tour 2022[1] is the ongoing debut concert tour by American singer, songwriter and actor Joshua Bassett in support of his 2021 extended plays: his self-titled debut EP and Crisis / Secret / Set Me Free, as well as his upcoming 2022 EP, Sad Songs in a Hotel Room. It began on September 9, 2022 in Toronto, Canada and will conclude sometime in 2023,[2] comprising 7 scheduled shows.[3] The tour is set to visit North America and Europe through two legs. American singer-songwriters Lindsey Lomis and Stacey Ryan serve as the opening acts.[4]
Background[edit]
Bassett announced the tour on May 16, 2022,[1] comprising two legs of 12 shows spanning over North America and Europe, with American singers Lindsey Lomis and Stacey Ryan as supporting acts, the former for the North American leg and the latter for the European leg.[5][6][7][8]
Pre-sale for tickets started on May 17.[9] On May 19, Bassett announced the addition of four new shows – second dates in NYC, Los Angeles, San Diego, and London – due to pre-sales being high in demand.[10] Regular tickets went on sale the following day.[4] VIP packages – including additional benefits and early access to exclusive merchandising and products – were on sale as well exclusively to fans who purchased tickets.[11][12] A portion of every VIP package was donated to a charity of the buyer's choice.[11] Supported organizations included Teen Line, The Sunrise Movement, and Bring Change To Mind.[13] On May 21, Bassett revealed that tickets sold out the same day they went on sale.[14]
On July 20, 2022, Bassett was announced as one of the performers at Nickelodeon's music festival, NickFest.[15] With the festival's dates being announced as October 22 and 23, it was added as part of his tour, serving as the last two shows, at the time.[16]
On August 5, 2022, Bassett announced that he had to cancel and reschedule some of his shows due to colliding production schedules.[17][18][19] His show in Toronto, both shows in New York City, and his shows in Pasadena were revealed to take place as scheduled.[20] Both shows in Los Angeles were moved to October 16 and 17. All other shows in the United States were canceled.[20] The European dates were announced to be moved to 2023.[20][19] He also announced that his canceled shows will take place in bigger venues, sometime in early 2023.[2][21][22]
On September 7, 2022, VIP packages were added for the first five shows in Toronto, New York City, and Los Angeles.[23]
