Journal of Managerial Issues (JMI) is an academic journal that publishes original research in management theory and practice across all functional areas of business. All articles appearing in the JMI pass through a traditional peer review process prior to publication. The journal is published quarterly by the Kelce College of Business at Pittsburg State University. The current editor-in-chief is Eric G. Harris.

Mission[edit]

The Journal of Managerial Issues strives to increase academic and practitioner understanding about the theory and operation of business enterprises. The journal’s emphasis is on empirical work but also publishes conceptual and methodological articles across the broad spectrum of business disciplines. The JMI encourages the use and dissemination of both emerging and established research practices and methods. The journal follows the peer-review editorial practice established within the academic community of business journals.[1]

History[edit]

The JMI was founded in 1989 by Charles C. Fischer, Professor of Economics in the Kelce College of Business at Pittsburg State University. He served as editor-in-chief through 2008 and was succeeded by Bienvenido Cortes who served in this capacity until 2015. Since that time, Eric G. Harris has edited the JMI. Throughout its history the JMI has maintained an editorial review board composed of leading academic business scholars who oversee the review process of papers submitted for publication consideration. Back issues of the JMI are permanently archived in JSTOR.[2]
