Jowaine Parrott (born 30 November 1966) is a South African long-distance runner and ultramarathon competitor. She has competed in marathon and ultramarathon events in South Africa and internationally across several decades[1] She recorded a marathon personal best of 2:58:36 at the Singapore Marathon.[2]
Early life
Parrott was born on 30 November 1966 in South Africa.
Career
Parrott competed in road running and ultramarathon events from the early 1990s through the late 2010s.
In 1992, she competed in the Two Oceans Marathon and completed the 56 km race in 3:56:55, finishing third among women.
In 1994, she won the UCT Memorial Race representing Bellville and recorded her marathon personal best of 2:58:36 at the Singapore Marathon.[3]
In 1995, she finished second among women in the Two Oceans Marathon.
In 1996, she won the UCT Memorial Race for a second time and recorded notable performances at major ultramarathons, finishing first in her category at the Two Oceans Marathon with a time of 3:47:06, and fourth among women at the Comrades Marathon in 6:55:19.[3]
In 1999, she finished 11th among women at the Two Oceans Marathon and 20th among women at the Comrades Marathon.
In 2002, she competed in the Two Oceans Marathon and finished 66th among women.
From 2007 to 2017, Parrott continued competing in ultramarathon events including the Two Oceans Marathon, Comrades Marathon and Chatsworth Freedom Ultramarathon.[1]
In 2019, Parrott competed in the Two Oceans Half Marathon, completing the 21 km race in 1:47:47.[4]
